Special Olympics gives individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to play sports, be active in their community, and build a network of friends.
To participate in Special Olympics is free for the athlete but the county needs to raise money in order for the athletes to participate and continue with the various sports programs available.
Special Olympics has sports programs continually throughout the year, and athletes practice and compete in county and state tournaments during each sports season.
Polar Plunge is a fundraising opportunity for the county to raise money for their programs. Each county has to pay for entry fees, uniforms, transportation, lodging for overnight trips, sport equipment, supplies, postage, etc.
Please support Howard Co. Special Olympics by Plunging!!
